Car accidents cost Russia €22,5 billion
Russian economic power is in rising, mostly because of Russian energy dominance. But still, based on World Bank report, traffic accidents cost Russia €22,5 billion, with road death rate about 24.6 deaths per 100,000 population(14.7 in the US, 10 in France, 6 in Sweden).
According to World Bank report, dominate factors contributing to road traffic is speeding, unsafe vehicles, poor driver behavior and weak road safety management, but also widespread practice to pay bribes to instructors in order to skip driving school to obtain drivers’ licenses, according to car-accidents.
